The Denver Ballet Guild makes a significant impact on the dance community annually by awarding grants to professional dance companies, sponsoring dance education and in school performances for school-aged children, and providing awards to young aspiring dancers. Since the pandemic forced the cancelation of the 2021 Young Dancers Competition (YDC), typically in March, the Denver Ballet Guild has set its sights on designing a fall 2021 event for the Young Dancers of Colorado. After speaking with studio directors and instructors whose students have participated in the YDC over the past 20 years, we heard that there is a desire for in-person opportunities for our young dancers once our community is able to re-open. DBG NEEDS YOU! As VP of Membership for the Denver Ballet Guild (DBG), I invite you to please renew your DBG membership and invite you to also become a new member of the Denver Ballet Guild. DBG is a non-profit, volunteer organization that has supported dance arts in Colorado for more that 35 years. DBG directly impacts our community through several outreach programs that benefit Colorado youth. Additionally, DBG promotes excellence in performance and encourages dance creativity and diversity in our community. We impact the dance community by awarding grants to professional dance companies, sponsoring dance education, and providing awards to young aspiring dancers. In March of 2020 more than $25,000 was awarded to talented young dancers through the 37th Young Dancers Competition. Past dance company recipients of DBG grants include 3rd Law Dance, Ballet Ariel, Boulder Ballet, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, Colorado Ballet, Hannah Kahn Dance Company, Kim Robards Dance, Wonderbound, and Zikr Dance Ensemble. Les Cygnettes
Les Cygnettes introduces young ladies in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades to the arts through a wide range of fun, cultural, and social activities including top-rated plays, musical theatre events, and dance performances. Les DemoisellesA part of Denver Ballet Guild since 2005, young ladies in the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades have an opportunity to attend dance, theatrical and cultural events annually. Les Demoiselles also provides volunteer outreach opportunities for its members and occasions to support Guild-granted dance companies. Le Bal de BalletDenver Ballet Guild’s signature fundraising event for over thirty years, Le Bal de Ballet, honors outstanding high school seniors and their families.
